BBW Dallas: Meet Up in Uptown, Stay Out in Deep Ellum
Uptown for the hello, a vintage trolley to the museums, Deep Ellum for later: a Dallas plan for BBW, big men and admirers.
Four Dallas evenings, and the way into each
Fat F-Buddy is where BBW, big men and the people who like them meet one to one, with no strings and nothing to explain. Dallas sets the scene, and each of these districts sets a different one, every one of them easy for two adults who already know what they want. Choose the mood first, then the ride home; the first-meet guide covers the conversation.
Uptown
Visit Dallas calls it walkable, with Klyde Warren Park tying it to downtown, restaurants along McKinney Avenue, shopping in West Village and the 3.5-mile Katy Trail. A stroll that turns into dinner. Way in: the M-Line Trolley runs between downtown, Uptown and West Village.
Arts District
Twenty blocks and 118 acres, Visit Dallas says, holding the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Crow Museum of Asian Art and the Perot Museum. Suits a first meet among museums. Way in: the M-Line reaches the Arts District from downtown.
Bishop Arts District
Visit Dallas lists galleries, coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars in Oak Cliff. The coffee and galleries give you a first hello that doesn't need a drink. Way in: DART's maps show which of its buses, light rail lines or the Dallas Streetcar gets you closest.
Deep Ellum
A historic warehouse district with roots in blues and jazz, says Visit Dallas, now home to live music, rooftop cocktails and a big collection of wall murals. An evening built around the music. Way in: DART, on the late-night rhythm set out below.
Getting around
A vintage trolley that costs nothing to ride
The M-Line Trolley rolls in vintage streetcars about a century old. Its operator, a nonprofit called the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority, has served Dallas since 1983 and says riding costs nothing. The route ties downtown to the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, Uptown, West Village and the CityPlace/Uptown DART station.
DART trains come every 15 minutes at peak, every 20 at midday and every 30 late at night. Miss one late and you wait half an hour, so set your leaving time from the timetable, not the mood.
Living outside the city? So do more than eight in ten people in the metro area, on the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimates, and DART's member cities include Plano, Garland, Irving and Richardson. BBW near me explains how distance works, and Fat F-Buddy can sit on your home screen like an app; the features page has the details.
Daylight places for a first hello
- Klyde Warren Park. Built over Woodall Rodgers Freeway and managed by the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, with a fountain, a dog park and food trucks. Entry costs nothing.
- The Katy Trail. A 3.5-mile greenbelt on a former rail line, maintained by a nonprofit, Friends of the Katy Trail. Walking beats sitting across a table when you're nervous.
- Dallas Museum of Art. In the Arts District, and your roof when the sun wins.
- Dallas Arboretum. Sixty-six acres on White Rock Lake, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, with tickets sold online. The 5 p.m. close is a polite built-in ending.
Heat check: at DFW Airport, the 1991 to 2020 normals from NOAA give average highs of 95.6°F in July and 95.8°F in August, against 56.5°F in January. May is the rainiest month at 4.78 inches, then October at 4.37. Houston runs about a degree cooler in midsummer; BBW Houston has its monthly table.
Same-day or next-day testing through Dallas County
Dallas County Health and Human Services runs two sexual health clinics, both by appointment.
Book first
Appointments are required, and the county lists same-day or next-day slots.
Pick a site and a day
The Sexual Health Clinic on North Stemmons Freeway opens Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Polk Street Clinic on South Polk Street opens Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Say what you want checked
Testing covers mpox, HIV, hepatitis C, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and trichomonas, and the county also lists PrEP and nPEP. Ask the clinician which tests fit you, and see the safer casual sex guide for the official advice.
Dallas meet-ups: what people ask
Which Dallas district is best for a first meet?
Start in Uptown or the Arts District, where you get the Katy Trail, Klyde Warren Park and the museums by day. Keep Bishop Arts and Deep Ellum for a second stop once you've said hello; the safety page shows what the site does on its side.
Can I take a train from Fort Worth to Dallas?
Yes, on the Trinity Railway Express, which DART runs with Trinity Metro. It runs Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays only around the State Fair, so a Sunday meet from Fort Worth needs another way in.
Do I need an appointment at the Dallas County sexual health clinic?
Yes. Dallas County Health and Human Services says appointments are required at its Sexual Health Clinic and its Polk Street clinic, with same-day or next-day slots listed. Book through the county, and ask a clinician what testing suits you.
What does the M-Line Trolley cost to ride?
Nothing. The nonprofit McKinney Avenue Transit Authority runs its vintage streetcars without a fare, on a route that ties downtown to the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, Uptown and West Village, so the ride from a museum to dinner becomes part of the evening.
