A day in Los Angeles

BBW Los Angeles: Easy Meets, One District at a Time

Casual meets for BBW, big men and admirers, kept to one district, because Los Angeles is not a city you cross for a coffee.

How do you plan a meet in a city this spread out?

Start with the easy part. On Fat F-Buddy, plus-size women, big men and the people who like them say up front that they want something casual, one to one, so nobody spends a Saturday guessing. The hard part is the map: Los Angeles is huge and spread out, and the classic mistake is lunch in one district, dinner in another and no plan for the ride home.

  1. Morning

    Coffee at the market

A public market since 1917, Grand Central Market is a hall of vendors, so nobody is stuck at a table. Video-call first; the fake profile guide says why.

Video call Thursday, then coffee at the market on Saturday? I’ll get myself home either way, so no pressure.

  2. Afternoon

A museum or a park, by the weather

Pick the roof or the grass: The Broad is the museum, and Gloria Molina Grand Park, 12 acres between the Music Center and City Hall, has a fountain, a splash pad and seating. Both are downtown.

  3. Evening

Dinner in the district you are already in

Stay downtown, where Discover Los Angeles points to L.A. LIVE and Little Tokyo. Or try Koreatown, west of downtown and south of Hollywood, which Discover Los Angeles ties to tabletop Korean barbecue, nightclubs and 24-hour businesses. Dinner is its own yes; either of you can end the day at any point.

  4. Getting home

Settle the ride before you order

Metro runs six rail lines, the A, B, C, D, E and K, plus OWL night buses for the overnight hours. Read your line’s last departure together. Whether the night ends at your door, theirs or the platform, agree the ride first.

Which daylight spot fits the day you have?

Four places, four kinds of afternoon. The first-meet guide and the safety page cover the rest.

  • Grand Central Market

Open daily, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., with vendors setting their own hours. Your Monday fallback.

  • Gloria Molina Grand Park

Open daily, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., run by The Music Center, with no admission charge. Also open Mondays.

  • The Broad

General admission costs nothing and walk-ups are accepted. Closed Mondays. The wet-weather anchor.

  • Griffith Observatory

In Griffith Park, run by the city. No admission charge, the nearest parking is paid and Monday is the closed day. Give it a day to itself.

Sexual health

Get tested at no charge, even on a Saturday

Two confidential sites from the county’s list, with walk-ins accepted at one of them.

LA County Public Health lists confidential testing sites at no charge and urges sexually active people to test every three months. Two of them:

  • Los Angeles LGBT Center, McDonald/Wright Building, North Schrader Boulevard: walk-ins accepted on weekdays.
  • AIDS Healthcare Foundation Wellness Center, North Western Avenue: open Tuesday to Saturday.

The CDC’s GetTested locator searches by ZIP code, and a doctor or either clinic can tell you which tests fit; the safer casual sex guide covers the official basics.

Dry summers, wetter winters: what to plan for

One wet stretch to work around, one long dry one to enjoy.

Downtown (the USC campus station) and the coast (LAX), from NOAA’s 1991 to 2020 normals.
WhenWhat the normals showWhat it does to your plan
December to MarchRain falls mainly now, with February wettest at 3.64 inches downtown. January highs average 68.0°F downtown and 66.3°F at LAX.Choose the indoor stop first and the park second.
June to SeptemberClose to dry, with August at 0.00 inches. Downtown highs average 82.0°F in July and 84.0°F in August; LAX is cooler, at 76.7°F in August.Outdoor daytime plans hold, and the coast runs cooler.

Living outside Los Angeles? Here is your way in

Metrolink, the regional commuter railroad, lists lines on its own site for:

  • Antelope Valley
  • Ventura County
  • Orange County
  • Inland Empire
  • Riverside
  • San Bernardino

Flying in? The LAX/Metro Transit Center station, where the C and K Lines meet, opened on June 6, 2025. Fat F-Buddy opens in any phone browser, so the chat can ride the train with you; the features page has the rest. The USA guide and the places hub cover other cities.

Quick answers for a Los Angeles meet

How do I find BBW singles near Los Angeles?

Set your nearest town or city and say what you want. Daily matches weigh distance, age range and what each person is after, and VIP and VIP Plus add city and distance filters. The BBW near me page explains the range dial.

How late can I get home by train in Los Angeles?

Each Metro rail line keeps its own timetable, so read your line’s last departure before you pick the evening; after that, OWL night buses take the overnight hours. If you’re used to Chicago, where two lines run around the clock, the Chicago guide shows the difference.

Where can I get tested in Los Angeles?

LA County Public Health lists confidential sites, among them the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s McDonald/Wright Building and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Wellness Center on Western Avenue. The CDC’s GetTested locator finds HIV, STI and hepatitis testing near a ZIP code, no-cost and low-cost sites included.
